We are nearing the end of the six weeks. Parents should look at their students’ objective sheets. Each band class has weekly objectives that students should pass off either during sectionals, class, or via Schoology. In addition, each student has been preparing a solo. Students will either perform their solo at the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest (if they signed up) or in class next week. In addition, the band calendars that were ordered as part of the Spirit Wear Sale are in! I will hand these out in class on Monday. In addition, I have about 15 extra calendars. If you are interested in purchasing one, please send your student with either cash or check made out to TOG Band. Finances Please make sure all finances are up to date. Payment may be made to the Band Booster Box at the front of the Band Hall via cash or check made out to Touch of Gold, or online through Charms via credit or debit card. February Private Lesson Fees are now past due. All fees should be paid at this point except for trips and March Private Lessons (Due March 1st) forward. In addition, the Solo and Ensemble contest fees have been applied to the accounts of those participating, and are past due. Volunteer Opportunity The Denison Athletic Booster Club has offered us a few dates to work the soccer concession booth and earn money for the Touch of Gold Booster Club. Please be sure to check the updated rehearsal schedule (sent in a separate email). The Solo & Ensemble Contest will be held at Rockwall Heath High School, and we will provide transportation to and from Rockwall Heath HS. Composition Project Students in all three concert bands have also been working on a Composition Project this six weeks. These projects are due on Wednesday, February 12th.
