Symphonic Band

Conductor: Mr. Austin Armstrong
The Symphonic Band is a non-varsity concert ensemble consisting of musicians who perform quality wind literature. Participation requires a substantial amount of dedication on the part of its members. Enrollment in private lessons is strongly encouraged. Performances will include UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest, one or more invitational festivals, a Holiday concert, and a Spring concert. In addition, extra rehearsals and clinics are occasionally scheduled, along with sectionals in the spring semester. Students in the Symphonic Band will be required to perform an appropriate level solo at the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest in February and to perform an appropriate level ensemble at the Texoma Solo and Ensemble Contest in May.
